Nimbin Ride 01/09/2013

After a busy week in NZ and getting home at 9-30pm Saturday wedecided to go on the ride. Got set for an 8-30 start as advised only to get a hurry up call as advice received was out by half an hour. A  great day to be out and about though with 11 bikes in all along for the ride.

Started with a nice ride to Canungra for a short stop (I guess Browns Plains to Canungra is quite a way J)

From there we were to head on to a coffee stop in Numinbah Valley and this is where it went wrong, Chuckles, Feathers and GT got caught in traffic so Russ stopped to wait and everyone else carried on.

We then headed through Beechmont as we thought that would be where they went but we were wrong (again). Caught up at the coffee stop only just behind Maureen who did come back and look for us and who also got left behind. From here we kept pretty much together on the trek to Nimbin although GT was kind enough to stop for a guys who’s Harley had stopped for no apparent reason (no really it just stopped) and helped repair the earth cable that had broken away.

Well we have heard the stories and now we know they are true, not too backwards in marketing the green in Nimbin are they. Great lunch at the pub and a leisurely wander around the stores.

A ride back through Kyogle for fuel and on back to Brissy through Summerland Way with a stop to look at a possible rally site and a farewell stop at Rathdowney. All in all a great ride organised by Popeye with I am sure some guidance from Auto, and if they could just get the local council workers off the green long enough to level the roads it would have been excellent. I’m guessing ride etiquette will be discussed again.

Your ever cheerful pillion

Happy Feet
