The daylooked a little gloomy, but rain, hail or shine the PCYC annual Show ’n’ Shine was going ahead. Meeting up with Marika to go over the plan for our assistance for the day, it looked like she had not slept for a week, with all the organising to make this a successful day. Our crew turned up on time and set upour stall, ready to battle the hungry hoards for our world famous “Sausage onBread”. While the weather threatened to put a damper on the day and things were a little slow in the food department, Jaffa seized the opportunity to sell afew more raffle tickets and promote the Mt Lindesay Branch to all around.
The bikeshow portion, while small in numbers approximately (20 bikes) had a widevariety and high calibre of machines on show. There were bikes for all the classes and even one which really could not be categorised being custom hand built from the ground up. With the rain letting up, the four judges did the rounds inspecting each and every machine, taking notes and conferring between each other to reach a result in all categories.
Spyder came away with Best Street Champ with his beautifully restored Yammy and I got Best British for my Thunderbird. Now you may say the odds were stacked in our favour, however Simon from Heavy Duty Motorcycles had full control over these entries.
We had club members involved in a number of displays throughout the day with Gypsy and her crew showing “the girls have still got it” with a wonderful belly dancing display and Popeye, Auto, Graham and Puppies joining in for the Rock n Roll dance off.
Even though the weather was not entirely kind, the event was well supported with PCYC making a healthy profit on the day and we all had a great time helping them out. Marika was so grateful for the support Mt. Lindesay branch gave on the day.
